In Indonesia, the world\u2019s largest rattan producer, this has led to many small holder farmers losing their jobs. However, regarding innovative rattan products, there is a rising demand by future-oriented companies for sustainably produced, organic materials such as the Nature Tech material karuun\u00ae.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>As a natural raw material rattan is ideal not only because of its technical properties: is grows very fast and is harvested by local farmers in an environmentally friendly way. Rattan needs the rainforest in order to thrive, in contrast to other monocultures where areas of rainforest have to be cleared to allow cultivation.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Reactivating the rattan market is therefore not only in the interest of VIVERE Group and karuun\u00ae but also offers the opportunity to generate income of smallholder farmers and to preserve the tropical rainforests through modern
