J*GAST, a pioneer in modern kitchen design, presents its latest creation: the J*GAST kitchen made of karuun®. This innovative natural material, derived from rattan, sets new standards in functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics. The evolution of J*GAST cuisine is the result of creative collaboration with HOLZRAUSCH and many product designers.
As part of Munich Creative Business Week 2024, the CRAFT FORWARD event once again demonstrated the potential of innovation and design working together. In a joint exhibition by J*GAST, karuun®, and TYP® – initiated by Meiré und Meiré – new paths in design were explored and the boundaries of the possible redefined. With a strong focus on the originality of natural raw materials and textures, CRAFT FORWARD II made a clear statement for forward-looking design requirements. Among the numerous highlights of the exhibition was an impressive J*GAST kitchen made of karuun®, which captivated the audience.
The use of karuun® in the J*GAST kitchen challenges traditional notions of functionality and prestige. The modern Nature Tech Material not only creates a harmonious connection between classic appearance and advanced functionality, but also offers sustainable, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing possibilities for the living area.

karuun® uses the unique capillary structure of the almost forgotten raw material rattan and offers unparalleled advantages. It is robust, flexible, and lightweight. In the J*GAST kitchen, karuun® panel and karuun® block are used, preserving the natural, linear grain and color of the rattan. The design is complemented by karuun® shine, a translucent, light- and air permeable material that is created by the end-cut of karuun® block.
