The IAA Mobility Summit is the premier gathering for visionaries, stakeholders, and decision-makers in the mobility sector. Here, innovations and advancements from leading international companies converge with experts from diverse industries. This event serves as a central hub where the future of mobility can be presented and discussed in its social and political dimensions.
Against this inspiring backdrop, bayern design curated “Unknown Perspectives”, an exhibition that delved into the potential of design to open, explore, and shape uncharted realms of possibility for sustainable mobility — from sustainable materials and innovative construction, to buildings and new areas of mobility. The exhibition’s name refers to the unexplored and undefined models of sustainable mobility.
Design plays a central role in creating access, forging experiences, and shaping identities within these mobility systems. This includes designing for flexible and diverse usability (access), shaping social, aesthetic, and atmospheric spaces (experience), as well as communicating values and meanings of mobility systems to cultivate a sense of belonging and identification (identity). The ecological context is also a vital factor in this process.
As an innovative Nature Tech Material, karuun® unites all these dimensions, offered fresh perspectives both on the design level and within the context of material cycles. Prototypes and studies showcased karuun’s potential applications in mobility, providing visitors with a firsthand experience of its versatile capabilities.
The exhibition was part of the Bavarian joint stand “Bavaria. Das Innovationsland” a collaborative effort between Bayern Innovativ and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. The summit opened for visitors from 5th to 8th September.
